A New Light Is Shining at Johnson County Westside Schools

A new light is shining at Johnson County Westside Schools, and it's saving the district substantial money. After completing a cost-free assessment, Superintendent Dr. Vicki Hall deployed a complete renovation of the lighting systems across the district, updating from fluorescent to energy-saving LED technology.

The energy conservation project was supported by OG&E Arkansas’s School and Government Efficiency (SAGE) program which lowered the cost to the school district by twenty-five percent. Westside School District is projected to save more than $30,000 annually in energy, maintenance, and operations costs, recouping the complete cost of the project in just three years.

"Entegrity was very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. The new lighting makes an incredible difference on the interior and exterior of the buildings and the classrooms and hallways are much brighter, making conditions more conducive to learning. The lighting helps create an appealing atmosphere which lends to creating a more positive culture for our students, staff and community," said Dr. Hall.
